Historical Based Innovation and Economy Research

The institute combines humanistic, engineering and economic knowledge by using respective methodes equally. The focus of research and teaching is on modern age including historical processes with relevance to the present.

Basics and applications in research and teaching as well as interdisciplinary cooperations in science and economic will be consistent developed. The research results shall contribute to a historical-dynamic analyses for diagnoses of the present and prognostics.

With the "Aachener Studien zur Wirtschafts-, Sozial- und Technologiegschichte" the instute publishes since 2003 a publication series. It is a discussion platform for economic and social historical issues in the area of Euregio Maas-Rhein.

The Research Unit for Economics and Social History and History of Technology is part of the Research Area Energy, Mobility and Evorinment (EME) together with the School of Economics and Business.
