Opnening Production Hall at Rhein-Nadel-Automation
(Aachen) Paul Thomes and Robert Peters visited the inauguration of the new industry 4.0 factory of Rhein-Nadel-Automation (RNA). Julia Schroers, student in business administration, who is writing her bachelor thesis about the history of RNA joined them. The company located in Aachen (annual turnover of more than €50 million) is global market leader of feeding technology and pioneer of industry 4.0 in its sector. The prime minister of NRW Armin Laschet and the mayor of Aachen Marcel Philipp participated in the inauguration. In the economic history of Aachen the company plays an important role because it emerged from the needle industry which was one of the most important businesses. Robert Peters is actually working on a monography about the history of this branch.
